Pepper vs dishwashing liquid

I was learning water tension.
I found it hard to put the dishwashing liquid on m finger so I used a cotton buds. 
next time I would use less pepper and a bit more dishwashing liquid. 

What does the dishwashing liquid do to the water surface?
It moves the pepper to the side of the plate.

    It's great to see you have been blogging your learning tasks.
    Is that blue water? Did you put blue food colouring in your water? Maybe next time you could try to video your experiment and add it to your blog. I like your idea of putting the dishwashing liquid on a cotton bud, great thinking.

      No it is not blue water it is the reflection of my bench in the kitchen.
